Russan best parks creator shared his ideas on Toratau improvement

One of the largest experts on the improvement of spaces in Russia, Sergey Kapkov, shared his impressions of visiting Shihan Toratau.

“This is a unique site to create a power place where every inhabitant of the republic will come at least once. The key points on which you can rely: the mountain itself, the lake and the ruins of the Gulag. There is no urbanism; there is a place to swim, to ride bicycles. But you should show more respect to the mountain. I would forbid to drive up so close to it. A parking lot in 500-1000 meters should be made so that people will walk to the mountain”.

According to Sergey Kapkov, the question of whether it is necessary to allow climbing the mountain is debatable; it needs to be solved by the residents of the republic.

The expert is visiting Bashkiria at the invitation of the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov. He will develop standards for landscaping the republic.

Sergey Kapkov visited Toratau in preparation for the creation of a geopark. As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the Toratau Geopark was created by decree of the Acting Head of the republic in December last year. It includes already existing specially protected natural territories - Trahtau and Yuraktau Shikhans, as well as a number of other unique objects of the two regions - Romadanovsky ravine, Khazinskaya cave, Berkhomut spring, Ziganovka, Elasyn caves, Olympia, Lake Tugar-Salgan, Alatau mountain section, Itkulovskoe swamp, "Ishimbaysky" state natural reserve, the caves of Salavat Yulaev and Tash-Oi, the "Kalim-Uskan" rock.
