Rehabilitation center for disabled children will appear in Ufa at former “Salyut” sanatorium

At a briefing session in the Bashkiria Government on January 28, Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov raised an issue regarding the state of affairs at the “Salyut” sanatorium. As reported by the Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Regional Government Lenara Ivanova, the institution has accumulated large payables.

As part of the assignment of the head of Bashkortostan, an option was worked out to construct a rehabilitation center for disabled children at the “Salyut” sanatorium.

“This is a wonderful park area, with an exceptional medical cluster within walking distance —a children's republican hospital, a perinatal center, 22 hospitals, and other medical facilities are located nearby. The land area allows us to develop this institution. To date, medical and technical design specification is developed for this facility. It provides for 100 in-patient beds, 20 beds - mini-hotel. In addition, a day patient facility is provided for 250 visits per shift, ”said Lenara Ivanova. “We are planning to do it in three stages. Now we will proceed to the overhaul, to already use the day patient facility part and to launch the in-patient part by 2020. Then we are going to construct a new building of the educational center”.

Thus, a large multifunctional rehabilitation and educational center for disabled children with permanent funding will appear in Bashkiria.

“People should be calmly explained: “Salyut” will cease to exist, but in its place, a completely new modern institution for special needs children will appear”, Radiy Khabirov stressed.
