Ufa traveler Kamil Ziganshin climbed high peaks of Bhutan

A week ago, on January 16, the famous Ufa writer and traveler, Chairman of the Bashkir Branch of the Russian Geographical Society, Kamil Ziganshin flew to the kingdom of Bhutan.

It took him four days to reach this relatively closed country, located on the eastern edge of the Himalayas, between India and China. Having landed safely in the capital of Bhutan, Thiphu, Kamil Ziganshin saw its sights, and then set off on a journey over the country.

“Having received a blessing of the Big Buddha, accompanied by guides from among the local residents, I safely reached the highest part of the kingdom in five days,” Kamil Ziganshin shared with Bashinform.

According to the writer, it was his long-nurtured dream to visit Bhutan. “Due to the centuries-old isolation, the lifestyle of this country inhabitants has not changed for many centuries. Not by chance, Bhutan is also called the Time Reserve. This is the only state where the Gross National Happiness program is established and the Ministry of Happiness has been created for its implementation. Judging by the fact that in Bhutan, the average life expectancy is 90 years alongwith zero crime, this program is being successfully implemented”, the writer said on the eve of his departure to this country.
