Russia is in Top 10 smartest countries in world according to British researchers

Russia ranked sixth in the ranking of the 25 smartest countries in the world, Esquire magazine reports, citing the British portal Vouchercloud. The ranking is headed by Japan, followed by Switzerland, China, the United States, and the Netherlands.

The conclusions are based on the number of Nobel laureates, the average IQ of the population and the results of school performance.

Russia is in the top eight in terms of the number of Nobel laureates, in the top six in terms of school education. In the list with IQ indicators, Russians took the 32nd place. Japan and Switzerland occupy the top lines in all three positions. China received the third place due to the second position in terms of IQ, and the Americans took the fourth place in the ranking due to the largest number of Nobel laureates.

The ranking pays special attention to the countries in the East Asian region. But South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore failed to reach the leaders only due to the small number of Nobel laureates.
