Adverse weather conditions are again in Sibay, gas comes to surface in quarry

Today, there are adverse meteorological conditions in the city of Sibay. Due to this, the gas accumulated at the bottom of the quarry comes to the surface. In the sanitary protection zone of the city smell of sulfur, smog may appear, the local department of civil protection warns.

Residents in social networks publish photos and videos of dense fog in the city.

Recall that in Sibay, a high-alert mode is in effect since November last year. Strong air pollution occurred due to the oxidation of ore in the closed copper ore mine.

Currently, the city continues to work on the elimination of oxidative processes in the quarry. Air quality is constantly monitored.

Residents of Sibay are recommended to stay inside, use respirators, gauze bandages, to rinse eyes, nose, and mouth with water, moisten the air in the room and drink more fluids.
