Radiy Khabirov urged to reassure residents concerned about high charges for garbage collection

UFA, 17 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Acting Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov urged to reassure the population of Bashkiria regarding their concerns about high fees for garbage collection.

The Acting Head RB strenuously objected to the previously approved figures and instructed to reconsider them. Today at a briefing session the Interim Housing and Utilities Minister Mikhail Kireev reported that the payment for garbage collection had been reduced. The fee will be from 57 to 81 rubles per person per month for residents of apartment buildings, from 58 to 81 rubles for residents of individual residential buildings.

Radiy Khabirov stated that in the republic as a whole, the average fee for garbage collection should not exceed 70 rubles, and for the villagers - no more than 35 rubles, and instructed to complete the work on setting tariffs and payments before December 20.

“People should be explained why this payment appears, why we need a new scheme for MSW handling as this is a big complex work on the landfills modernization, on the elimination of unauthorized dumps. At the same time, we do not postpone an issue of modern methods and approaches to garbage collection. In terms of separate garbage collection, the republic stepped forward considerably; a number of regions are lagging behind us in this area”.
