State Assembly deputies are going to Sibay to study environmental situation there

Deputies of the Bashkortostan State Assembly are immediately leaving for the city of Sibay to study and analyze the situation in the city. As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, there was gas pollution in the city due to the ore oxidation in an unused quarry. Now specialists of the Ministry of Environment RB, Department of State Analytical Control, Ministry of Emergency Situations are working there.

A working group headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly Rustam Ishmukhametov was created in the Bashkortostan parliament specifically for studying the situation in the city. The group also included deputies Alfaris Baychurin, Ilgam Galin, Rufina Shagapova, Rustam Ablaev.

The deputies intend to familiarize themselves with the environmental situation, visit all objects of concern, and evaluate the effectiveness of the authorities, the Emergencies Ministry and other services. A meeting with local residents is also scheduled, at which they will be openly told about the current situation, the measures being taken to eliminate the causes of gas pollution. The current problems of the population will be solved promptly.

“There are a lot of questions in regard of the causes of the situation, but definitely a debriefing will be conducted later,” said the Chairman of the State Assembly Konstantin Tolkachev. “Now it is necessary to provide a full range of mitigation measures.”
