Bashkortostan deputies donated 200 thousand rubles to Serafimovsky orphanage

The deputies of Bashkortostan handed over a certificate for 200 thousand rubles to the Serafimovsky orphanage for mentally retarded children. The funds were collected on the International Day of Charity "Generous Tuesday" - the people's representatives transferred their one-day earnings to help the institution.

The money will be spent on the improvement of two repaired blocks of the orphanage, designed for 48 children. Children here will live per 2-4 people in a room. A similar department, for young people with disabilities from 18 to 24 years old, has existed at the Serafimovsky orphanage since 2015. It has 24 graduates.

Total, in 2018, the orphanage received charitable funds worth more than four million rubles, most of which were donated by enterprises and organizations.

The Serafimovsky orphanage is the only state medical and social institution in the republic, intended for the permanent residence of disabled children in need of domestic, medical care and social and labor adaptation. Now it is home to 310 pupils aged from 4 to 25 years.
