Bashkiria Head recommended preserving metallurgical plant ruins in Tirlyan

UFA, 5 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In the village of Tirlyansky the Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov inspected one of the sights of the village - the ruins of a metallurgical plant washed away by the flood of 1994.

A huge iron spoke wheel was installed here - one of the drives that rotated the rolling mills. It was made in 1915. The wheel’s weight is about 100 tons. Flywheels were set in motion by a power plant. Today this place is very popular among tourists.

Radiy Khabirov instructed the district administration to landscape the territory.

Abandoned buildings built in the 19th century, which used to house the plant, are located near the wheel. The owners of the "Sudovaya Gora" hotel planned to restore them. But the administration of the village did not allow taking the building, referring to the fact that there were no legal grounds for its transfer. Subsequently, a fire occurred in the building. Now local residents are gradually dismantling the ruins, the metal floors are being scrapped; nothing is left of the unique old staircase.
