Ufa claims to be capital of International Cycling Congress 2019

UFA, 4 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The capital of Bashkortostan has hit the shortlist of cities where the International Cycling Congress can be held in 2019. This is reported by the community «Let's bike it! — a project to develop a cycling movement». Together with Ufa, four more Russian cities claim to be the capital of the event: Almetyevsk, Volgograd, Krasnodar and St. Petersburg. A total of 14 applications were submitted to the competition.

“Evaluating the applications, we tried to draw attention to many factors: from the ease of travel for potential participants to the degree of elaboration of the application and a general understanding of the concept of the event. In order to decide on the final choice, in the near future we will discuss some nuances with the selected cities and current partners of the cycle congress”, the organizers specified.

Note that for the first time the International Cycling Congress will take place outside of Moscow.
