Large modern rehabilitation complex for children with special needs will appear in Ufa

UFA, 19 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. A large modern rehabilitation complex for children with special needs will appear in Ufa, said the Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov during a meeting with the parents of disabled children.

“It will be a republican establishment at the place of the former “Salut” sanatorium. We are currently developing a design solution, and we will construct it quickly. We will launch the center in 2020,” Radiy Khabirov marked.

Two new buildings will be constructed in addition to the existing main building: one of them will accommodate a treatment and diagnostic department with a pool, the other - an educational innovation center, where children with special needs will receive the additional and vocational education. A psychological-medical-pedagogical commission will also have an office there. That is, everything will be located in one place. It is very convenient for both children and their mothers. Children will receive rehabilitation for 21 days.

In addition, the construction of a rehabilitation center in the north-east of the republic is being considered.

Another issue identified during the meeting was a provision of disabled children with technical means of rehabilitation, which are not included in the federal list.

Radiy Khabirov instructed the Interim Deputy Prime Minister Lenara Ivanova to consider this issue.

“We can allocate up to 10 million rubles. This is not much, but let us grant them first”, said the head of the republic.

Gulshat Ibrahimova, the head of the regional public organization Council of Mothers “Mother's Heart”, drew attention to the issue of the disabled children rehabilitation.

“There are 16 thousand disabled children in the republic, 6 thousand of them do not receive rehabilitation services at all for a number of objective reasons,” Gulshat Ibrahimova quoted the data. “We propose to introduce a monetary certificate for such children so that they can go through rehabilitation three times a year and independently choose the course they need.”

“I am ready to consider this proposal,” said Radiy Khabirov.

The head of the republic instructed Lenara Ivanova to examine the issue with representatives of public organizations until December 1.

Such meetings will be held three times a year.

“This is a big important task - to render you assistance. We have more than 16 thousand children with special needs in the region. Everyone has different stories, but they are always complicated”, Radiy Khabirov addressed to the parents of disabled children. “The support of such families will be one of the significant areas in my work personally and in the activities of the Government of the republic.”
