Ufa native Anton Sazonov rode eight thousand kilometers by bike and finished his trip in Bali

UFA, 6 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The cycling expedition of the Ufa traveler Anton Sazonov “Children of the World” over the countries of Central and Southeast Asia finished in the island of Bali in Indonesia.

The journey began in Ufa on June 12. Anton Sazonov visited 13 countries, where he met with schoolchildren, made photos and established contacts. Total he rode eight thousand kilometers by bike. The bicycle traveler will return to Ufa on November 8.

“The expedition took place in difficult weather conditions - heat over forty degrees in the shade in Tajikistan, conditions of high mountains in the Pamirs and the Karakorum highway in Pakistan. I reached Myanmar at the end of the rainy season and had to endure constant dampness and even correct the route. In some countries, there was a difficult political situation, problems with the environment, terrible overcrowding ... I needed all my experience, exceptional patience and endurance, ”Anton Sazonov tells about his impressions.

In each country, the Ufa traveler attended schools and sought to establish contacts so that pupils could correspond with Ufa schoolchildren. However, difficulties may arise with this, as the equipment of many Asian schools is much worse than in the Russian ones, without even a computer in some of them.

“In general, the essence of school education and approaches to learning are the same as in Russia. But the equipment is much worse. Even in large schools, where from 600 to 1000 people study, there are no computers and the Internet. Finally, on the results of the expedition, there will be two or three schools, which at least will have a technical opportunity to receive mail. We expected to implement creative projects, such as photo exhibitions, skype bridges, but in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar — it is simply technically impossible. If we talk about the development of the project and the continuation of the expedition, then China should probably be considered: a large country with an interesting history and culture”, the traveler told the Bashinform News Agency.

In Ufa, Anton Sazonov promises to make reports in Ufa schools, will show photos and tell the children about his trip in detail. He hopes that his initiative will become a starting point for establishing friendship between Ufa schools and schools in other countries.
