Bashkir Medical University is only Russian university to represent innovative methods to fight cancer in UAE

UFA, 2 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The delegation of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) led a section on the treatment of bladder cancer at an international urology conference in the UAE.

Valentin Pavlov, Rector of the Bashkir State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, joined the presidium of the forum and held a master class on bladder cancer together with world prominent urology specialists.

“Today BSMU is the only university in Russia represented at this conference. And we, along with the world leading experts, share our experience in conducting operations and scientific aspects of our republican urological service work with the audience of the conference, the geography of which is represented by participants from all over the world”, commented on Valentin Pavlov.

As part of the forum, he participated in debates on “Radical Cystectomy”, at which he shared his unique experience in open, laparoscopic, robot-assisted radical cystectomies performed at the First Center for Robotic Surgery of the Volga Federal District at the University Hospital in Ufa and demonstrated the advantages of robot-assisted surgery.

The delegation of Bashkir State Medical University included an assistant professor of urology Marat Urmantsev, an associate professor of urology, radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy Ruslan Ishemgulov, an associate professor of surgical diseases and new technologies Ildar Kurbangulov, assistant of the urology department Serafima Maksimova.
