Radiy Khabirov proposed to monitor "armed" families with children

On October 23, in the House of the Republic, the Acting Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, held a meeting of the antiterrorism commission dedicated to ensuring the safety of educational institutions. One of the important issues of discussion was a situation with the protection of educational facilities in Bashkiria.

“The recent tragedy in Kerch became a disastrous lesson for all of us and a reminder of the need to strengthen this work. The criminal freely took a weapon, an explosive device into the building. As a result, 21 people died, most of them were teenagers, dozens of people were injured, ”said Radiy Khabirov. “Unfortunately, a similar incident has already occurred in the Sterlitamak school this year. Therefore, we must understand that we are among the problematic regions in this part. The authorities at all levels, the security forces - bear personal responsibility for the life and health of each citizen of our republic. Please do not forget about it even for a minute”.

The Acting Head of the region stressed that all violations found during inspections of educational facilities should be promptly eliminated, and drew the attention of those present to the lack of video surveillance cameras at educational organizations.

“Today, almost one-third of educational organizations, and this is more than a thousand, do not have video surveillance systems. Over the past five years, almost 1.5 billion rubles have been allocated from the budget of all levels to create a safe learning environment. This year, another 116 million rubles will be allocated. But this is not enough”, noted the Acting Head RB.

Radiy Khabirov instructed the heads of educational institutions to take additional security measures, to tighten access control, to evaluate critically the staff. The Ministry of Education of Bashkiria should check the security status of subordinate institutions, their equipment with protection systems. The results should be reported on January 15.

“I also ask you, together with the local authorities, to prepare lists of families with children in which firearms, traumatic and other weapons are registered. I believe that local education departments should possess such information, and local district police officers should carry out preventive work with parents on weapons possession. It is necessary to analyze, think about what additional measures for the prevention of crimes at schools should be taken. Let's measure all the risks. All of you are professionals in this field. Therefore, I propose to think it over and put forward with initiatives”, stressed the Acting Head of the region.

The meeting was attended by representatives of state authorities of the republic, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs RB, the Office of the Public Prosecutor RB, regional departments of the Federal Security Service, Rosgvardia, the Investigative Committee, the Emergencies Ministry, relevant ministries and departments.
