The Deputy Prosecutor of Bashkortostan Oleg Gorbunov resigned after investigators conducted searches at his home and office in the framework of the large bribe case against the district prosecutor, RIA Novosti reported citing its own source in law enforcement agencies of the republic.

Earlier, the source told RIA Novosti that on Thursday investigators of the Investigative Committee RF in the region had searched the office, apartment and the summer cottage of the deputy prosecutor of Bashkiria Oleg Gorbunov. It was reported that the investigative measures were connected with the investigation of the criminal case against the prosecutor of the Sovetsky district of Ufa, who was detained red-handed while receiving a bribe of 5.5 million rubles from an Ufa businessman who also became involved in the bribery mediation case and testified to the investigators.

“The resignation document was signed on October 19”, the agency quotes the source.

According to the document, in accordance with the federal law on the prosecutor's office, Gorbunov will be paid severance pay in the amount of 20 monthly official salaries with an additional payment for the class rank.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the first deputy prosecutor of the republic Oleg Gorbunov for 2017 declared income of 2,658,720.67 rubles (in 2016 - 2.62 million rubles), his spouse - 238,198.01 rubles (261 thousand rubles). He and his son own shares in the apartment of 71.8 square meters. Oleg Gorbunov also owns a garage of 22.3 square meters. An apartment of 88.9 square meters is granted for use to the spouses and their son. An apartment of 71.8 square meters is granted for use to his wife. In addition, she owns a Suzuki Grand Vitara vehicle.
