Geographical sign with unique coordinates is established in Bashkiria

Its participants should visit the extreme geographical points of the republic: the north in the Yanaul district, the west- in Bakaly, the south- in Zianchurino, the east - in Uchaly, and the geographical center of Bashkortostan in the Gafuri district.

On October 9, another object to visit - a geographical sign in the form of a white and blue pillar with an attached granite sign, which shows unique geographical coordinates: 55*55' north latitude 55*55' east longitude, appeared. Its location is near the village of Nizhnesaitovo in the Kushnarenkovo district of the republic.

“There are four such points on our planet, but this is the only geographical point on Earth located on land. The remaining three are in the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans. Here, near Nizhnesaitovo, eight fives came together. It seems that this sign will become a favorite place for all who love our homeland, for patriots of our beautiful land, tourists, local historians from other regions of the country, and even from abroad, ” the Chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society told at an opening ceremony of the new geographical point, the famous writer and traveler Kamil Ziganshin.

The fact that the intersection of 55 degrees north latitude and 55 degrees east longitude is near Nizhnesaitovo became known to bloggers and journalists of the republic four years ago. This was announced by a participant of the opening ceremony of the “55/55” stele, Shamil Valeev, the head of the Mediakorset media.

“Indeed, this is a unique place that is nowhere else in the world. This point can become a new republican landmark. With the help of these coordinates, you can always explain to a foreigner where Bashkiria is located - often abroad it is quite difficult to explain where exactly Bashkortostan is located in Russia. It is important that now every young man who has learned about the 55/55 point will forever remember where Bashkortostan is on the planet and may want to become a navigator, geographer, scientist, in any case, a loving and knowing his Homeland person”.
