Rustem Khamitov: mayor candidate should be able to make innovations in urban management

Today, on October 9, the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov named the personal and professional qualities that the future mayor of the Bashkir capital should possess.

“Ufa is a million-plus city. It occupies a significant position not only in the Republic of Bashkortostan but also in the country. The city is developing, growing, living, so we need a person with progressive views here”, said Rustem Khamitov. “It would be nice if a candidate had manufacturing activity experience because people develop differently in such work teams. Today, we need people not so much from the bureaucratic environment, as from large industrial groups that are able to make certain innovations in what we call urban management. I would like this person to be both morally and psychologically strong, as the pressure on the city mayor is always quite high. There should be a clear understanding of a big responsibility for this city. Thus, it should be a successful, strong person as the responsibility to the residents is also high”.

Rustem Khamitov noted that a candidate applying for the position of the city manager should be professionally trained, honest and decent and far from politics to the extent possible.

“The choice will be made by deputies of the City Council,” the Head of the Republic specified. “I am sure that it would be the right choice, and a person who will lead the city will be worthy and responsible”.
