Teacher's Day: more than 40 thousand teachers work in Bashkiria’s schools

UFA, 5 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Every year on October 5, the professional holiday of all teachers and educators is celebrated. It was established in 1994.

Currently, 132 thousand people work in the sphere of education of the republic. According to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, more than 40 thousand teachers and managers work in educational institutions of Bashkortostan. 91% of teachers have a higher education. In schools, every second teacher has working experience exceeding 20 years.

Of the 4.8 thousand teachers of secondary vocational education, 98% have a higher education degree, 137 people, and 12 people have an academic title of associate professor. Of the 5.2 thousand people of the faculty of higher educational institutions, 875 teachers have a scientific degree of a doctor of science, 3278 - candidates of science, 569 academic professors and 1,847 associate professors.

The majority (88%) of school teachers is women, among the teachers of secondary vocational schools - 77% of them, in universities - 58%, the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency informs.
