Ufa bike traveler shared with what surprised him at Asian schools

UFA, 4 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.The cycling expedition of Ufa native Anton Sazonov "Children of the World" over Central and South-East Asia has been going on for more than 100 days. The Ufa traveler continues his route, now he is in Kuala Lumpur.

The expedition will finish on the island of Bali in Indonesia. The international non-commercial project is aimed at promoting tolerance and harmony, positioning Russia in the world as an open, peace-loving and free country.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, during the expedition contacts with local schools are established to organize further friendship and communication with Ufa schoolchildren. Financing of the project is carried out through crowdfunding. Anton Sazonov has already visited Pakistan, India, Bangladesh.

“I have visited nine countries and I can say that children are open everywhere, they are happy to meet with a bike traveler from a distant large northern country. They are very positive and respectful towards Russia, everyone knows our country and is very interested in it. But they cannot believe that we have snow for six months during a year”, says the traveler.

However, it seems that it will not be possible to establish links with all countries.

“I have visited about ten schools. In general, the essence of school education and approaches to learning are the same as in Russia. But the equipment is much worse. Even in large schools, where from 600 to 1000 people study, there are no computers and the Internet. This is no longer possible to imagine in our schools anymore. The bottom line on the results of the expedition will be two or three schools, in which at least there is a technical opportunity to receive mail. We expected to implement creative projects, such as photo exhibitions, skype bridges, but in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar - it is simply technically impossible. If we talk about the development of the project and the continuation of the expedition, then China should probably be considered: a large country with an interesting history and culture, ”the traveler told Bashinform.

In Ufa, Anton Sazonov promises to deliver reports in Ufa schools and tell the children about his trip, about how their peers live and study in other countries.
