Women began to delay birth of children in Ufa

UFA, 2 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The number of women who give birth to their first child aged 25 to 34 is growing in Ufa. If in the early 2000-s 50% of all pregnant women became mothers in the age before 24 years old, 42% between 25 and 34 years old, then in 2017 their number was 21.6% and 63%, respectively. This was reported by the head of the state statistics department of the Ufa administration, Oksana Dayanova, at a briefing session in the city hall.

The number of women producing the first or subsequent children over the age of 35 increased three times: in 2000 there were 765 of them and 2414 people in 2017.

“Marital and family relations have a significant impact on the situation with the birth rate. Over the past 15 years, the number of annually registered marriages has increased: in 2017, 9,681 pairs were formed in Ufa. The number of divorces for the same period, on the contrary, decreased by 2.8%”, Oksana Dayanova marked.

If in 2000 83 divorces were accounted for 100 marriages, then in 2017 there were 52 divorces per 100 couples.
