Rustem Khamitov proposed to establish grant for "silver" volunteers

UFA, 2 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan, it is planned to establish a special grant for volunteers of the "silver" age. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov stated this at the 3rd All-Russian Forum of "Silver" Volunteers.
The issue of grant support for volunteers was raised during the panel discussion "Active Longevity in Russia: Happy People - a Happy Country!", which was held in the framework of the forum.
"Grants can and should be received. Only the Republic of Bashkortostan sends tens of millions of rubles to the development of non-profit organizations. The main problem is to teach people how to receive these funds, draw up documents, act correctly," said Rustem Khamitov. "I suggest that in our country we establish a grant specifically for "silver" volunteers. Only those organizations that are engaged in "silver" volunteering will have the right to participate in competitions to receive these resources. "
The head of the republic called "silver" volunteering an important social movement.
"In the market economy, the need for such associations is much more important and higher than it was 30-50 years ago," the Head of Bashkortostan stressed. "The social movement of "silver" volunteers began to fill this niche now. This is a natural, proper process. Certainly, we should help, render assistance to this activity".
