More than 39 thousand migrants arrived in Ufa over ten years

UFA, 2 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. From 2008 to 2017, 39,614 people from other regions and countries came to Ufa for permanent residence.
The main increase was due to intraregional migration: 177 thousand people arrived in Ufa from districts of Bashkortostan, and 145 thousand left it. Migration growth amounted to more than 30 thousand people.
“The migration ratio with other regions of Russia is negative: minus 3001 people. Ufa residents leave mainly to Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar Territory,” said Oksana Dayanova, head of the Ufa state statistics department at a briefing session in the city hall. The flow of people leaving for Moscow is increasing: if in 2014 the migration balance was -488 people, in 2017 it was 923 people.
Over 11 years four thousand people from foreign countries arrived, 2.5 thousand departed. Migration balance amounted to plus 1,630 people. 9,202 people arrived from the regions of the CIS and stayed to live in Ufa. Most of them are citizens of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
In 2017, the Ufa population increased by 3,037 people at the expense of migrants, most of which - 2,267 were of working age, 976 - are younger than working age.
According to statistics, the main part of migrants is citizens of working age, 75 percent of them as of 2017. Migrants are the most mobile between 15 and 24 years old, their number is one-third of the total number of visitors. Over the years, the migration mobility of the population decreases. Between the ages of 40 and 60, men mostly migrate, and women predominate in the age group over 60.
The main part of migrants changes their place of residence due to education reasons, personal family issues and job search. There are those who return home after a temporary absence.
