Bashkiria and Azerbaijan will continue cooperation in education

UFA, 27 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Today, September 27, the ninth Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum starts in Baku. The main topics of the forum are the development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties between the regions of the two countries. The Republic of Bashkortostan is represented by a delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Salavat Sagitov.

The forum will also become a platform for joint work of Russia and Azerbaijan, including the relevant ministers, ambassadors of countries, the business community and experts.

Yesterday a meeting of Salavat Sagitov with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov took place.

The prospects for cooperation and exchange of experience between the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan were discussed at the meeting.

According to Salavat Sagitov, Azerbaijan's experience in preparing five-year-olds for the school period is of particular interest. Jeyhun Bayramov, in his turn, noted the significant success of Bashkortostan in providing three to seven-year-old children with places in kindergartens, as well as serious achievements in this direction for toddlers. The practice of support of gifted children, the development of secondary special education and the training of specialists by institutions of higher education in the republics were considered.

"We have agreed to send a team of specialists to Azerbaijan in the near future and to adopt a similar group in Ufa for a more thorough study of the education systems and applied advanced technologies, methodologies, and methods," Salavat Sagitov said.

At present, the universities of Bashkortostan and Azerbaijan have signed agreements on interaction and cooperation. 40 citizens of Azerbaijan studied at the universities of the republic in the 2016-2017 academic year as part of the exchange and internship programs, as well as directed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
