The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan’s formation is a significant date in the history of the Russian federalism, which should become a common holiday for all the inhabitants of the region. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov at a meeting of the Republican Organizing Committee for the preparation and celebration of the event.

The head of the republic stressed that the year of 2019 would be quite intense. Bashkortostan will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the national poet Mustai Karim, the 100th anniversary of the Bashkir Drama Theater, the archival service of the republic. The Summer International Children's Games will be held in Ufa. Preparations for the World Folklore Festival of 2020 and the Apimondia Beekeeping Congress in 2021 will continue.

“And yet the main event of 2019 is an anniversary of our republic. It should become our common holiday, which will be celebrated outside of Bashkortostan as a significant date in the history of Russian federalism", said Rustem Khamitov.

The head of the region reminded that the official date of the 100th anniversary of the republic's formation would be March 23, 2019. The main solemn events should be planned taking this into account.

“The jubilee year should be rich in events, cover all areas - presentations, exhibitions, scientific and practical conferences here in the republic, Moscow, other regions. There are a lot of initiatives, we need to pay attention to the content, high level of events holding”, noted Rustem Khamitov.
