Strategy to support medical volunteering is developed in Russia

"A strategy of medical volunteering support in the subjects of the Russian Federation" will appear by 2019. Members of the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers-Medical Professionals" work on the document.

It is planned to submit its full version already in the autumn of 2018, TASS reports with reference to the chairman of the movement Pavel Savchuk.

According to him, often regional authorities want and are ready to support volunteers but do not know what to do in this regard. Therefore, "Volunteers-Medical Professionals" decided to develop the "Strategy for medical volunteering support in the subjects of the Russian Federation".

In the strategy, experts will define a set of measures to support medical volunteering. They will include the needs of medical organizations in volunteer activities, create a system of material and non-material support, and other aspects of volunteer activities.

Before sending the document to the regions, it will be coordinated with the well-known volunteer organizations and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
