Natural population decline in Bashkiria accelerated

For the same time, almost 26 thousand people died. The natural population decline in the region was 2,816 people, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. A year ago, the number of deaths also exceeded the number of births, but the gap was less - 1720 people.

The situation is quite better in the capital of the republic. The natural increase remains, although it is almost three times less than a year earlier: plus 365 people against 902.

Total, 4.06 million people live in the republic, 53.1% of them are women.

Statisticians are pessimistic regarding the demographic issues. Based on the forecasts of Rosstat, the population of Russia will decline. The main trend is a natural decline in combination with the migration inflow. Migration movement is expected with a "plus" in all three forecast scenarios.

The natural decline in the population of the country is likely to increase. In the worst scenario, according to statisticians, by 2036 in Russia there will be 136.7 million people (forecast for 2018 - 146.8 million). During this time, the natural loss will amount to almost 12 million people. 1.9 million of migrants will somewhat even out the situation. The average version of the forecast assumes that the natural number of Russians by 2036 will be reduced by approximately 6 million people, and due to the migration inflow it will be possible to remain in a small "plus", and by that time the country’s population will reach 145.9 million people. The most optimistic forecast is an increase in the population, mainly due to the inflow of migrants. In this case, the number of Russians may exceed 157 million people.
