Applications from around world were received by Vladimir Spivakov Violin Competition in Ufa

UFA, 14 August 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. 32 applications were submitted for the 2nd Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition. The event will be held in the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ufa from September 17 to 21, 2018.
"32 applications were submitted. Among those wishing to take part in the competition there are representatives of Russia - the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, two applications from Ufa, as well as foreign countries - the USA, Spain, Israel, Estonia, Japan, Korea", said the member of the competition organizing committee, the deputy director of "Bashkortostan" Concert Hall Yuldash Uraksin.
Until August 20, the commission will consider all submitted applications and will select 12 musicians from video recordings. They will come to Ufa to participate in the competition.
The performance will be judged by the international jury, led by an outstanding violinist, Michael Kopelman (USA). The jury will also include Vladimir Spivakov (Russia), Boris Kushnir (Austria), Qian Zhou (Singapore), Takashi Shimizu (Japan), Sergei Dogadin (Russia).
Competition of young violinists will be held in three rounds. In the first and second rounds, the participants will present solo programs. In the third round, finalists will perform one of the violin concerts by composers of the 19-20th centuries, accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The main prize is a unique violin, created in 1912 by the Italian master Riccardo Antoniazzi.
