Schools construction and repair financing increased to 1.6 billion rubles in Bashkiria

Last year, the Government of Bashkiria allocated 1.546 billion rubles to create a modern infrastructure of educational organizations within the "Modern School" national project, and 812.5 million rubles were received from the federal budget. Three schools in Ufa were built for these funds, major repairs were carried out in 80 municipal schools, 108 state subordinated institutions and 82 sports gyms in rural schools.

"In 2018, the funds allocated by the Government of the republic increased by 16% and amounted to 1.636 billion rubles, from the federal budget – to 523.145 million rubles. Due to this, six schools were built, 100 schools and 46 gyms were repaired, 6842 new school places were put into operation", said Gulnaz Shafikova, the Minister of Education of Bashkiria, delivering a report at the republican August meeting on education.

Also in 2018, the funds were allocated to create a safe educational environment in municipal schools. According to the minister, 98% of schools in the region meet the requirements of Federal Educational Standards. But there are 35 facilities, partially recognized as dilapidated and another 2% require major repairs.

"Such work will be continued as part of the "Modern School" project and "100 facilities timed to the Bashkiria’s formation anniversary", said the head of the department.

49 educational facilities are included in the last project.
