Yesterday, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with Tokuro Furuya, Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Russia, at the House of the Republic. The parties discussed cooperation prospects in the industrial, trade-economic, scientific and cultural spheres.

"The Republic of Bashkortostan is interested in interacting with the Japanese side", Rustem Khamitov stated. "You are probably aware of the fact that our republic is an industrially developed region of the country. We have well-developed oil extraction, oil refining, petrochemistry, chemistry, metallurgy, engineering, aircraft engine building, agriculture areas. Undoubtedly, we would like to interact with representatives of Japanese business in this part".

The head of the republic noted that within the framework of the cross-year of Russia and Japan in September, a presentation of Bashkortostan in the Embassy of Japan would take place in Moscow, and then the tourist potential of the republic would be presented directly in Japan.

"It is very important for us to organize an investment process. We would welcome the location of production facilities in the territory of our republic by famous Japanese companies", stressed Rustem Khamitov. "I think that representatives of the business circles from Japan will attend a presentation of our republic in September. We would like to convey the idea that we are very open and friendly. Assistance in the construction of infrastructure will be rendered if necessary. Preferences and benefits for Japanese business will be given to create actually good conditions in any area".

During the meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan invited the Japanese delegation to take part in major international events that would be held in the republic in the coming years.

Tokuro Furuya thanked the head of the region for the rich program of the visit, within the framework of which he had visited Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, met with the leadership of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

"I feel that we have very great potential and prospects", said the Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy. "We have a common goal - to promote the development of our relations. Therefore, the work will go forward. "
