43,000 families are provided with fire detectors in Bashkiria

UFA, 7 August 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan, installation of standalone fire detectors in houses and apartments continues. Since the adoption of the Decree by the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov "About additional measures of social support for certain categories of citizens in the Republic of Bashkortostan", 42 thousand 934 families have been provided by standalone fire detectors, the website of the Government of Bashkortostan informs.
"If at the beginning of the detectors installation, the number of children died in the fires was 15, this year it was two children", said the Chairman of the State Committee for Emergency Situations RB Farit Gumerov.
After fires in the spring of 2016, in which 12 children were killed, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov instructed in the shortest possible time to install fire detectors in the houses of families with many children who are in a socially hazardous situation. Such fire-fighting sirens have already saved several people from death - the sensors activated in time warned people about the danger. After the fire in the village of Uguzevo in the Birsk district, which claimed the lives of four adults and five children, Rustem Khamitov ordered to install fire detectors in low-income families with many children.
In October 2017, a resolution was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, according to which, as of January 1, 2018, all families in which children were born were provided by standalone smoke fire detectors.
According to the Prime Minister of the Bashkortostan Government Rustem Mardanov, in the future the list of population categories to be provided with fire detectors should be supplemented, in particular, to consider a possibility of including pensioners in it.
The installation of the mini-sirens continues.
As of August 1, 2018, there were 2111 fires in the republic, which is 14 times lower than for the same period last year. The death toll in fires reached 143 people. The main causes of fire: violation of the electrical equipment and furnaces operation rules, as well as careless handling of the fire.
