Vladimir Putin signed law on tuberculosis initiated by Bashkortostan State Assembly

Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On Prevention of the Tuberculosis Spread in the Russian Federation" initiated by the State Assembly - the Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The document is published on the official website of legal information and will come into force on August 13, 2018.
According to the Federal Law "On Prevention of the Tuberculosis Spread in the Russian Federation", currently dispensary supervision is conducted only for patients with tuberculosis. According to the new provisions of the law initiated by the State Assembly of Bashkortostan, in order to prevent the spread of tuberculosis, as well as to detect early infected persons and appoint the timely treatment, it is established that people with suspected tuberculosis, persons who are or have been in contact with a source of tuberculosis, as well as people cured of tuberculosis are also subject to compulsory regular medical check-up.
The federal law also specifies and complements the list of responsibilities of persons under the clinical supervision in connection with tuberculosis. In particular, they are required to undergo an examination designated by a doctor of a medical TB institution, carry out the necessary preventive measures, including through the use of medicines, to pass check-ups in a medical organization and observe the frequency of appointments (examinations, consultations), to observe state sanitary and epidemiological rules and hygienic standards established for this category of persons, not to interfere with the implementation of sanitary and epidemiological measures (preventive) measures.
