Bashkiria - region with infant mortality decline - Ministry of Health of Russia

UFA, 4 July 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Ministry of Health of Russia named Bashkortostan among the regions where infant mortality decreased. Data on the demographic situation for January-May were announced yesterday, July 3, during a video-selector meeting with the subjects of the Russian Federation, in which the Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan Anvar Bakirov took part.

The Minister of Health of Russia Veronika Skvortsova was focused on the necessity to reduce the death rate of the population. In turn, the first deputy minister Tatiana Yakovleva drew attention to the infant mortality rate, which for five months of this year amounted to 5.1 per mille. She listed the regions where a significant reduction in infant mortality was recorded during the reporting period, including Bashkortostan.
