16 years since Boden See tradegy: remembrance day in Ufa

71 people died in this crash, including 52 children on board the Russian aircraft. A monument "Die zerrissene Perlenkette" is established on the site of the plane crash near the town of Jüberlingen. Last November, relatives and friends of the dead children and adults gathered at the site of the tragedy and planted a cedar grove there in memory of them.

Almost all the dead, children and crew members, are buried in the southern cemetery of Ufa. There is a monument depicting cranes that fly to the sky there. The monument to the deceased crew is installed at the Ufa airport. Funeral services and flower-laying ceremonies are held annually near all memorials. Yesterday, the relatives and friends of the victims met again at the cemetery in Ufa.
