Rosstat recorded demographic decline in Bashkortostan

UFA, 2 July 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Since the beginning of the year, a decline in the birth rate and an increase in mortality have been recorded In Bashkiria. The results of research from January to May 2018 were presented by Rosstat.

Thus, 19 341 children were born in the region for the five months of this year. Last year, their number was greater by 759 children – 20 100. Since the beginning of the year, 21 824 people have died in the republic, by 108 more than in the same period of the last year (21 716). The natural decline in the population was 2483 people. Only in May 4074 children were born in Bashkiria, 4475 people died.

Specialists register a decrease in the number of marriages and an increase in the number of divorces. In Bashkortostan, from January to May 2018, 7212 couples were married. Last year for the same period 7949 couples registered their relations. 6 441 couples divorced since the beginning of this year, compared with 6 321 couples for five months of the last year.
