Waiting lists to social services ceased to exist in Bashkortostan - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 28 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Bashkortostan for two years, waiting lists to the institutions of social services, which have been preserved for 10 years, ceased to exist. By this indicator, the republic has become one of the best in the country. This was stated by the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov.
According to him, such success was made possible due to the involvement of a non-state sector while provifding social services, which created conditions for developing competition and attracting investments.
Currently, the system of family, labor, employment, social protection in the republic includes 52 state institutions and 128 non-governmental organizations. Among the services that they provide, there are those that are not included in the guaranteed list: consumer services, hairdressers at home, medical massage, rental of rehabilitation equipment, nursing services and others.
"As a result of creating a competitive environment, as well as an independent evaluation of the social institutions activities, the quality of the services provided has improved", Rustem Khamitov stated. "The republic was the first to conclude a concession agreement on establishing a non-state assisted living facility for the elderly and disabled in the village of Irsaevo, Mishkino district. We should open such institutions and in other municipalities too".
