Bashkiria State Assembly deputies laid wreaths to Bashkir soldiers obelisk in Dresden

In Dresden, the delegation of the deputies of the State Assembly - the Kurultay of Bashkortostan led by the Speaker of the Parliament Konstantin Tolkachev accompanied by members of the Saxon Landtag visited a memorable obelisk to the Bashkir soldiers participated in the battle of August 1813 and laid wreaths to it. The event was a part of an official visit to the Free State of Saxony.

"It is nice to see that how respectfully and carefully Germany manifests itself in connections of its history with Russia and our republic, in particular. Yesterday in Zeithain we visited a memorial to Soviet soldiers who had died in a war camp. Today we visited an obelisk created in memory of the events of 1813. Russian, Prussian and Austrian troops jointly liberated Dresden from Napoleon," commented on Konstantin Tolkachev.

The delegation of the Bashkortostan Parliament also visited the Dresden State Art Collections, the Residence Palace and the Gallery of Old Masters, took part in the Future Forum at Wackerbart Castle. The official visit of the delegation of the State Assembly to Saxony comes to an end tomorrow. Before the departure, the parliamentarians plan to visit ADC Nagano GmbH and a "Dresden Panometer" panorama museum.

"This visit makes a significant contribution to the development of relations between the regional parliaments of the two countries," said Konstantin Tolkachev. "We also see great prospects for expanding cooperation between Bashkortostan and Saxony in the field of economy, culture, education. In late August - early September this year, a visit to Bashkortostan of the Saxon Landtag delegation is planned. It will consist mainly of members of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture, with an aim to discuss cooperation in the agrarian sector".
