Shulgan-Tash entered top-5 most beautiful caves in Russia
UFA, 20 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. A Kapova Cave (Shulgan-Tash) in the Burzyan region of Bashkortostan entered the rating of the five most famous and beautiful caves in Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
The Bashkir name of the cave is Shulgan-Tash. To the left of the entrance is Blue Lake, from which the underground Shulgan River flows, which runs into the Belaya River. The Kapova Cave has received worldwide recognition due to Paleolithic drawings. The age of the rock paintings is impressive: about 14-14.5 thousand years.
Two caves of the rating are located in Sochi. Ahshtyrskaya Cave is in Adler and is the largest cave in Sochi.
The Vorontsov Caves are a real underground miracle created by nature millions of years ago. The beauty and grandeur of the caves attract a huge number of tourists. The caves are located in the Khosta district and anyone can visit them today.
The Kashkulak Cave (Cave of the Black Devil) is located in Khakassia. It was a cult place of shamans, where they worshiped stalagmite, a symbol of propagation and fertility, and also made sacrifices there.
The Kungur Cave is located in the Perm region. Its entire surface is covered with age-old layers of ice, as well as frost. According to scientists, the age of the ice layers reaches about 10 thousand years.
