First Vietnamese cosmonaut will spend vacation in Krasnousolsk health resort

The first Vietnamese cosmonaut Pham Tuan will have a rest and undergo health-improving treatment in the Krasnousolsk health resort. This was reported by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov at a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Ngo Duc Manh.

"This summer, the first Vietnamese cosmonaut Pham Tuan is arriving in our republic in the framework of strengthening friendly Bashkir-Vietnamese relations", said the head of the region. "He will have a rest and undergo health-improving treatment at our Krasnousolsk sanatorium. Many cosmonauts spend a vacation in this sanatorium after flying into space, they restore their health there. So we are waiting for Pham Tuan".

Pham Tuan is the first Vietnamese astronaut. In 1979, he was selected to participate in the Soviet program "Intercosmos". Having received training, in July 1980 he participated in the flight aboard the Soyuz-37, Soyuz-36, and the Salyut-6 orbital station.
