Death rate from myocardial infarction decreased by 17% in Bashkiria

UFA, 18 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. A Cardiology Board of the Republican Ministry of Health summed up the results for the first quarter of 2018. According to the chief cardiologist of the department Irina Nikolaeva, in Bashkiria mortality from circulatory system diseases (by 6.8%), from ischemic heart disease (by 10.3%), from myocardial infarction (by 17.7%) decreased.
"We have set specific goals and objectives. This is an increase in the life expectancy of citizens, a decrease in the death rate of the working-age population, a reduction in mortality from circulatory system diseases", Anvar Bakirov, Minister of Health of Bashkiria, said at the meeting.
Specialists note that this result was achieved through the introduction of a three-tier system of medical care, following up patients with acute vascular pathology. Also, prevention activities and "Days of Public Health", "Walk with a Cardiologist" campaigns and others played their role.
Recall that the head of the region Rustem Khamitov at a meeting regarding the new May decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the average life expectancy should reach 78 years by 2024.
