Bashkortostan is among leading regions in terms of long-livers

Most pensioners who have crossed a hundred-year boundary live in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as in St. Petersburg and Bashkortostan. The Pension Fund of Russia defined the leading regions by the number of long-livers, RIA Novosti reported. The increase in the average life expectancy is one of the tasks that President Vladimir Putin set forth in the decree "On National Purposes and Strategic Challenges for the Russian Federation Development until 2024", signed on the day of his inauguration. The head of state instructed the government to take measures so that life expectancy rose to 78 years by 2024, and to 80 years by 2030.
In the current month, 484 long-livers of Bashkortostan celebrating anniversary birthdays will receive congratulations from Vladimir Putin: five veterans who live in Bakaly, Kuyurgazy districts, Blagoveshchensk, Salavat, Tuymazy will celebrate a centenary, 55 old people will celebrate the 95th anniversary, and 424 citizens of our republic will mark their 90th birthday, the regional branch of the Pension Fund of Russia informs.
The oldest pensioner in Russia today is a resident of Chechnya. She is 128 years old, she was born on June 1, 1889. Now in Russia 37 people older than 110 years live, almost all of them are residents of Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Dagestan, and Ingushetia.
At the end of 2017, the average life expectancy in Russia was 72.6 years, and in Moscow, it is approaching 80 years. At the same time in the country, there are more than seven thousand people who have overcome the turn of the century.
The number of long-livers will increase in the next seven to eight years.
