Victims state after Sterlitamak school attack remains stable - Bashkortostan Health Ministry

UFA, 20 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. The Ministry of Health of Bashkiria reported about a state of the victims of the school attack in Sterlitamak. "As of 10 o'clock on April 19, the condition of all victims of the Sterlitamak attack is stable. It is estimated as moderate severity state with improvement", Svetlana Kuskarbekova, spokeswoman for the agency told the Bashinform News Agency.

According to her, all those who suffered are conscious and under the constant supervision of doctors. Psychologists are on duty to provide them a psychological assistance.

After the attack at Sterlitamak school, four people were hospitalized: two pupils, a computer science teacher and an attacker himself. Local doctors are advised by their colleagues from the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital. Yesterday a team of specialists from Ufa left for the emergency site. Also, a consultation was conducted by specialists from the relevant federal children's hospital to agree on the subsequent treatment of the victims.

Yesterday, the Investigative Committee for Bashkortostan detained a minor suspected of committing a crime under the article "attempted murder of two or more persons", the press service of the Investigative Department of the Republic of Bashkortostan informed. The schoolboy was detained in the hospital, where he continues to be provided with medical care. The detainee, with the permission of doctors, is interrogated by investigators.
