Russian Education Minister named Sterlitamak incident as tragedy and urged not to inflame passions

UFA, 19 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Olga Vasilyeva, asked the media not to stir up emotions with a student's attack in the Bashkir school, RIA Novosti reported.
"I would like to ask you, all those who are present here, to refrain from inflaming passions. There was a great tragedy that requires a lot of investigation", the agency quoted Olga Vasilyeva at the Moscow International Salon of Education.
She stressed that the interdepartmental working group with the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science visited the regions every week with checks to identify such situations.
According to the preliminary data of the RF Investigative Committee, on Wednesday a 17-year-old pupil of the correctional class of the general school No. 1 of the city of Sterlitamak entered a computer classroom with his classmates and with a knife cut a hand of one of the pupils, and stabbed the teacher.
