Roskomnadzor will check Facebook social media. Blocking is likely

UFA, 18 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Roskomnadzor (Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications) will check Facebook's social media before the end of 2018. This is reported by "Izvestia" referring to the head of the department Alexander Zharov.

"Until the end of 2018, we will conduct checks of the company, and there are several items that should be done: localization of Russian citizens databases in the territory of Russia, deletion of all prohibited information - and they are already significantly running behind schedule - and compliance with other laws," he said.

According to Zharov, if any of the requirements are not met or the Russian state is not informed of the intention to conduct such activity, then the issue of blocking will be raised.
