Ka-29 helicopter crashed during training maneuvers in Baltic Sea

UFA, 13 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Ka-29 helicopter crashed in the Baltic Sea, RIA and TASS reported. There were two crew members on board, the body of one of them was found, the rescue works are continuing. In the Baltic, the fleet training maneuvers are going on these days.

The Ka-29 is a ship transport helicopter produced by KumAPP (Kumertau Helicopter Plant). The cause of the crash is to be established.

The press service of the Baltic Fleet told the agencies that the dead were test pilots of the manufacturer. The information on the deceased employees was not confirmed by KumAPP explaining that Ka-29s were also produced at Kamov JSC in the Moscow region. The press service of the holding company Helicopters of Russia did not answer calls.
