Bashkiria residents are invited to donate blood on National Donor Day on April 20

UFA, 13 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. The National Donor Day is celebrated annually on April 20. It was on this day 186 years ago that the first successful blood transfusion took place in Russia. The manipulation was conducted by a young St. Petersburg obstetrician Andrew Wolf. A husband became a donor for his wife who lost a lot of blood at the birth of a child.

As part of the memorable date, the republican blood service carries out the "I am a Donor!" campaign. On April 20, specialists of the blood transfusion station in Ufa will welcome all those wishing to donate blood at the address: Batyrskaya Street, 41/1, from 8.00 to 14.00.

On this day, the winners of the "The Best Logo of the Blood Service of the Republic of Bashkortostan" contest, which was held from February 27 to March 27, will be awarded certificates and corporate gifts. It was accepted 36 works, five participants became the nominees.

The donor campaign on this day will be supported by members of the Union of Russian Engineering Workers, who have been participating in the republican donor movement for a number of years, the press service of the Bashkortostan Ministry of Health informs.
