Magnetic storms dates in April are named

UFA, 6 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The dates of magnetic storms are named by scientists of the Ufa planetarium. In April, only one magnetic storm is expected, which will happen on April 12. Such a forecast follows from the mathematical analysis of the solar magnetic field and the structure of the solar wind. With a probability of 70%, the event will have a minimum strength (the first level on a five-point scale) and with a probability of 10 percent - the second level. The remaining 20 percent is due to the possibility of observing on this day of weaker magnetic disturbances.

According to experts, the calmest geomagnetic situation will be in the first ten days of the month, from April 1 to 10. In this period, a probability of even weak geomagnetic disturbances is estimated to be below 10%. The strongest magnetic disturbances will be in the period from April 11 to 15, when the Earth will be under the influence of a dense stream of the solar wind. In the second half of the month after April 15, only a few short-term minor perturbations are possible (according to preliminary data, on April 19, 21, 25 and 26).

The expected geomagnetic background of April is characterized as very low. From the point of view of solar activity, a probability of large outbreaks and releases of plasma is less than one percent.
