Working women problems will be discussed at international conference in Ufa

UFA, 4 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. On April 12-13, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Working Woman: Opportunities for Professional Self-Fulfillment vs Discriminatory Practices (post-Soviet space experience)" will be held in Ufa on April 12-13. It is carried out by the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (the Russian branch).

The press center of the university informs that the forum is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of professional self-realization of women and men in the post-Soviet space.

Barriers impeding women in the professional sphere will be specified, possibilities for their overcoming will be considered based on the analysis of the gender segregation features in the field of labor and employment. The study of women's strategies for combining labor and family responsibilities will help to determine models of family and work correlation, analyze discriminatory practices in the labor market concerning women with young children, and elaborate specific proposals for optimization.

The project is headed by Irina Frolova, the deputy director of the Institute of History and Public Administration of the Bashkir State University. The Coordinator is a Deputy Director of the Scientific and Educational Center "Theology" of the Institute of History and Public Administration of the Bashkir State University Gulnaz Balyagova.

Within the framework of the conference a presentation of the photo exhibition "They can do everything: women of Bashkortostan pictured by German photographer", the author is the coordinator of the language center of the Technical University of Dresden Katya Ullman.
