It is proposed to increase maximum speed on roads up to 110 km/h in Russia

This proposal was made by the head of the State Duma Committee for Transport and Construction, Evgeny Moskvichev. This is reported by the "Izvestia" newspaper with reference to the press service of the department.

"We should train specialists who would think jointly with us how to make the maximum speed on the roads not 90 km/h, but 100-110 km/h, I think it's time to set it. We should think it over together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, because speed is quite important", the press service of the committee quotes Evgeny Moskvichev.

In addition, the head of the committee urged to pay attention to the infrastructure that would help drivers feel more comfortable on the highways. According to him, in 2019 the Ministry of Transport will be able to allocate twice as much money for the project "Safe and High-Quality Roads", "so that roads will be illuminated, with pedestrian paths, crossings and etc.".
