Bashkiria Emergencies Ministry warns of car accident risks and visibility deterioration due to snowfall

UFA, 16 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in Bashkortostan informs that on Saturday, March 17, cloudy weather with sunny periods is expected. A mix of snow and rain turning into snow is forecasted. In some areas – ice-slick, snow deposits and slush build-up, ice on the roads. The southern wind with transition to the north-western of 7-12 m/s, at night gusts can reach 17 m/s. The air temperature at night will be -4, -9 C, in the daytime + 2, -3 C, in the north-west at night -9, -14 C, during the day -2, -7 C.

Rescuers also warn that on March 16 and 17, wet snow is expected in the region with ice cover on the roads, slush build-up and gusts of wind up to 18 m/s.

On Sunday, March 18, cloudy weather with sunny periods is predicted. At night occasional snow and wet snow in the daytime, sometimes increasing to heavy. In some parts of the road, snow drifts, packed snow, icy conditions. The south wind at night will be 0-5 m/s, in the daytime 7-12 m/s. Thermometers bars at night will show -7, -12C, in the north dropping to -20 C, in the daytime + 1, -4 C, in the north to -10 C. Visibility on the roads is predicted to decrease to one or two kilometers.

There is risk of accidents in freight and passenger transportation.
