Russian Academy of Sciences representative office may appear in Bashkortostan

UFA, 1 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/. A representative office of the Russian Academy of Sciences may appear in Bashkiria. This was stated by the President of the Academy Alexander Sergeev, TASS reports.

"We have requests from a number of regions to open a representative office of the Russian Academy of Sciences. We need to create three or five such offices. There are applications from the Altai Territory, from Bashkiria, Yakutia and several other regions. It should not be turned into a campaign, we just need several positive examples", the agency quotes Alexander Sergeev.

The RAS president is sure that the regional representative offices will not repeat activity of the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations.

"This is a relationship with business. We would like the Academy of Sciences to take part in transforming our science into a productive force of the economy", he said.
